Planets
11 cardsCategory: Personality Characteristics
Describes a person using the astrological system of ten planets plus the ascendant.
Overview
Primarily great for describing a person using the system adopted in astrology: ten planets plus the ascendant. It is suitable both for self-identification and for discovering the character of another person you are somehow connected to. Eleven cards are laid out in the shape of a pentagram, which is considered a symbol of humanity. Traditionally, the five rays are assigned the following meanings: upper ray — knowledge, upper left — aspirations, upper right — experiences, lower left — destiny, lower right — liberation.

How to Read
Shuffle the full deck. Draw 11 cards and lay them out in the shape of a pentagram according to the diagram. Each card corresponds to one of the planets in the astrological system. Begin reading from the Ascendant (card 1) — it sets the general tone of the personality. Then move to the Sun (essence) and continue in order of planets. Pay attention to connections between 'masculine' planets (Sun, Mars, Jupiter) and 'feminine' ones (Moon, Venus, Neptune).
Tips & Advice
The 'Planets' spread is especially useful when you want to create a complete psychological portrait — your own or another person's. Compare opposite planet positions: Venus and Mars will show the balance between tenderness and strength, Jupiter and Saturn — between expansion and restriction.
