Admission
9 cardsCategory: Education & Travel
A spread for those applying to an educational institution.
Overview
This spread helps to reflect on the drawn cards and articulate thoughts about the direction, resources, and evaluate the connection between education and future career as well as the person's inner inclinations. It is performed with a full Tarot deck. Nine cards are arranged in an inverted pyramid from bottom to top: from basic questions of choosing a direction and institution — through assessment of knowledge, preparation, and exams — to finances, career prospects, and further education.

Card Positions
Is the chosen direction correct?
Whether the chosen direction for study is correct. The card shows whether the chosen specialty or field corresponds to the querent's true abilities, interests, and calling, or whether this decision was made under pressure of circumstances or someone else's opinion.
Is the chosen institution correct?
The card evaluates whether the specific educational institution was chosen correctly. It reveals whether this university or college suits the querent in terms of level, atmosphere, teaching quality, and location, or whether other options should be considered.
How strict is the competitive selection?
The position shows how strict the competitive selection is at this educational institution. The card reveals the number of applicants, the difficulty of entrance exams, and the overall level of competition the querent will face.
Are the knowledge sufficient for admission?
Whether the querent possesses sufficient knowledge for admission. The card evaluates the querent's current level of preparation and their chances of passing the competitive selection with their existing knowledge base.
Is additional preparation needed?
Whether preparatory courses, tutors, or more intensive preparation are needed after all. The card suggests whether it is worth investing time and money in additional training before admission, or whether existing knowledge is sufficient.
Exams — how will they go?
How the exams will go. The card gives a forecast for the entrance exams — whether they will be easy or difficult, whether surprises await the querent, and whether they will be able to demonstrate their knowledge to the fullest.
Financial side of education
How expensive the studies at this educational institution will be overall. The card covers not only tuition costs but also associated expenses — housing, study materials, transportation. It suggests whether the financial burden is manageable.
Impact on career
Whether this education will impact future work and career. The card shows whether a diploma from this institution will open doors to the desired career, how in-demand the obtained specialty is in the job market, and whether the education will become a real advantage.
Further education in the field
Whether the querent will subsequently study somewhere else in this field. The card reveals whether this education will be the final point, or whether further studies await — a master's degree, doctoral program, advanced courses, or internships.
How to Read
Shuffle the full Tarot deck while focusing on the question of admission. Draw 9 cards and lay them out in a pyramid shape from bottom to top: bottom row — cards 1, 2, 3 (left to right), second row — cards 5, 4, 6, third row — cards 7, 8, top — card 9. Read the spread from bottom to top: first the basic questions of choice (1–3), then preparation and exams (4–6), and finally — long-term prospects (7–9).
Tips & Advice
The spread is read from bottom to top, like ascending steps. The bottom row (1–3) is the foundation: if the cards here are negative, it may be worth reconsidering the choice itself before preparation. The middle row (4–6) is the process: pay attention to the connection between cards 4 and 5 — if knowledge is insufficient (4) and card 5 speaks of the need for preparation, this is a clear signal to act. The upper block (7–9) covers results and future: card 8 is especially important, as career is the reason most people pursue education. If card 9 is positive — education will not end at this stage, which can be both a plus and an indication that one diploma won't be enough.
