Overview
A spread for identifying the sources of problems in learning — learning arts, the transmission of mastery from teacher to student. This spread is needed when it has already been determined that continuing the studies makes sense, but something is going wrong. It helps to understand exactly where the difficulties arise: in the teaching methodology, in the student themselves, in the lack of practice, or in physical and emotional condition. Seven cards are laid out from the current state to the deeper causes, allowing one to see the full picture of the learning process.

What already exists
The existing state of affairs in learning. The card shows what level the student is at right now, what knowledge base and skills they already possess, what their current achievements are and what resources they have for further development.
How the situation will develop
How the situation will develop under current conditions. The card describes the natural course of events if nothing changes. It shows the tendency — whether the learning is moving toward progress, stagnation, or deterioration.
What the master gives
The teacher's contribution to the learning process. The card reveals the quality of teaching, the master's methodology, and their approach to knowledge transfer. It shows whether what the teacher gives is sufficient, whether their style suits the student, and whether there are problems in the very process of mastery transmission.
What the student brings
The student's own contribution to the learning process. The card shows their level of motivation, diligence, talent, as well as possible internal obstacles — laziness, fears, insecurity, distraction, or unrealistic expectations of themselves.
What comes with experience
The role of practical experience in learning. The card shows whether the student practices enough, whether they apply acquired knowledge in practice, or whether they lack practice. Sometimes it indicates that time and experience will resolve the problem naturally.
Physical condition
The influence of physical condition on the learning process. The card reveals whether health, fatigue, lack of sleep, or an improper daily routine is hindering the acquisition of knowledge. Especially important for learning arts, where physical form directly affects results.
Emotional condition
The influence of emotional condition on learning. The card shows whether stress, anxiety, fear of failure, disappointment, or conflicts with others are blocking the process. Emotional balance is a crucial condition for successful learning and creative development.
How to Read
Shuffle the deck while focusing on the learning process that concerns you. Draw 7 cards and lay them out according to the diagram: card 1 — upper left corner, card 2 — upper right corner. Cards 3, 4, 5 — middle row from left to right. Card 6 — below center, card 7 — at the very bottom center. Read the spread from top to bottom: first assess the current state and prospect (1, 2), then the three sources of learning (3, 4, 5), and finally — physical and emotional condition (6, 7) as deeper factors.
Tips & Advice
The key block of the spread is cards 3, 4, 5 (master, student, experience). If the problem is in card 3 — consider changing the teacher or methodology. If in card 4 — the student needs to reconsider their approach. If in card 5 — more practice is needed. Cards 6 and 7 are often the hidden cause of problems: even with a perfect teacher and a motivated student, poor physical or emotional condition can reduce progress to zero. Compare cards 1 and 2: if the first is significantly better than the second — without changes, the situation will worsen. The spread is especially useful for creative professions — music, painting, dance, martial arts.
