In this system February is the month of repentance: it is named after an ancient rite of cleansing with which everything accumulated over the year was closed off.

The February task is cleansing. The person comes to close what nobody in the lineage ever answered for: to acknowledge, to apologise, to give back, to finish.

It is felt as guilt without a cause and as a tendency to take on what belongs to others. A February person often apologises for what they did not do and sets about repairing what was broken before them — and this really is their task, not a neurotic habit.

It matters where the line runs. Cleansing does not mean punishing oneself: paying with oneself closes nothing in the lineage, it only adds to the common account.

The task is fulfilled by acts in the present — by the person not repeating what they are working through.

Task within the lineage

Task within the lineage = month number (1–12)

The month is responsible for youth — for what has to be gone through in the first nine years — and for the present incarnation as a whole. Where the day speaks of the past, the month speaks of what is happening now.

It is also responsible for ties with people: how a person relates to others and how they build relationships. And for the lineage — on entering their month, a person takes up a particular place within the lineage.

The system distinguishes three kinds of karma. Personal karma was accrued by the person themselves in a past life. Family karma — by them too, but in relation to those close to them. Lineage karma is worked off only by descendants, and as a rule a generation on: a person deals with what a grandfather and a grandmother left behind, and their children — with what the parents left. There are exceptions.

The task within the lineage is precisely that lineage part. Its point is not guilt for one's ancestors, but that whoever moves into a house takes on the state it is in: the sorting out falls to the one who lives there.

One point stands apart: another person's karma cannot be affected. Even when someone is being pushed towards what is wrong, they answer for it themselves — and for that same reason they themselves can put a stop to it.
