The three levels of the cycles

Main stage, 12 years.Life is divided into six periods of 12 years each; a full circle takes 72 years. The energy of the period sets the main tone of that time of life.

Block, 2 years.Within each 12-year stage, the same six energies go round in a faster circle, two years each.

Sub-period, 4 months.The most changeable level: six four-month spans inside each two-year block.

Knowing where you stand in the cycles helps you bring decisions in line with the energy of the period: a time of Wind favors new beginnings, Hotness is the peak of achievement, and Cold is rest and saving strength before a new circle. Su Jok practitioners take the Six Ki cycles into account when choosing the timing of things.
