The obstacle shows up as a fear of the future. The person holds on to what was: to old friends, the former job, the accustomed way of living — and compares everything new with what used to be, usually to the disadvantage of the new.
What it blocks is the ability to build. Behind this point is someone who raises solid things meant to last; but building only goes forwards, and they are looking back.
What to do: take on the new in small steps — an acquaintance, a place, an occupation. Without giving up what was: this point recedes in the face of addition, not of a break.
A sign that it is receding: someone appears whom you have known for less than a year and who genuinely matters.
