A one at the end of the year is the Sun, the sign of leadership. But of a particular kind of leadership: not the kind won through a post and through pressure, but the kind people follow of their own accord.

A person under the Sun leads by the way they live rather than by giving orders. They do things the way they consider right, and that turns out to be enough for people to appear alongside them who want to live the same way. Issuing a command usually comes to them less well than setting an example.

The difficulty lies in what it demands of them. Leadership of this kind rests entirely on consistency: the moment a person begins to say one thing and live another, the influence is the first thing to go, and winning it back is harder than earning it the first time.

The last digit of the year of birth is taken — as it stands, with no reduction. There are ten possibilities, from zero to nine.

Each digit corresponds to a planet: 0 — Pluto, 1 — Sun, 2 — Moon, 3 — Jupiter, 4 — Uranus, 5 — Mercury, 6 — Venus, 7 — Neptune, 8 — Saturn, 9 — Mars.

It is worth reading it on two levels. The first — the planet itself and the set of traits that goes with it. The second — which of the two classes the sign belongs to: 0, 1, 4, 5 and 8 the system calls masculine, and 2, 3, 6, 7 and 9 — feminine. These are names of groups, not a statement about a person's sex: both men and women are born under every digit.
