A very simple spread that allows you to evaluate the current situation in terms of gains and sacrifices. What are the prospects (for example, earning from a particular project) and is the game worth the candle?

Card Positions

Benefit, gainBonuses and advantages that can be gained. The drawn card will show how good they are in themselves, and sometimes the card's very nature is already the answer. This is the "pro" that is present in the situation. Is it worth the effort, investment, and expense?

Investments, sacrifices, costWhat needs to be done, what to undertake, what to accept, or what qualities to demonstrate for that "pro" to materialize.

How to Read

Focus on a specific question — a project, investment, or decision you are considering. Shuffle the deck and draw 2 cards. The first card (left) is what you can gain. The second card (right) is the price you will have to pay. Compare both cards: if the gain clearly outweighs the cost — go for it.

Tips & Advice

This spread is ideal for quick evaluation of any undertaking — from a business proposal to a job change. If both cards look unfavorable, it may be worth waiting for a better moment. Pay attention to the suit of the cards: pentacles point to the material aspect, cups to the emotional, swords to the intellectual, and wands to the energy of action.
