The eighteenth arcanum gives the ability to be different people. Such a person can hold a role — and holds it so convincingly that few manage to work out what they are actually like.

Hence a theatrical gift in the literal sense: many of them go on stage. And hence, too, the difficulty for those close to them — they live for years with the feeling that they do not know this person all the way through.

The strength is a sensitivity to mood and the ability to adjust to any setting. The weakness is exactly the same thing: the boundary between the role and the self blurs, and the person themselves stops understanding where they are.

It matters especially for the eighteenth arcanum to have at least someone in front of whom there is no need to act.

Day arcanum — character

Day arcanum = DT

The day of birth is the main part of the date. It is responsible for character and for what childhood was like, and along with that — for the past incarnation and for what a person brings out of it: inclinations, a craft, an attitude to work.

It is read as a general frame — much the way a zodiac sign is read in astrology: it describes a tendency, not the whole person. Character is made up of many numbers, and no one of them cancels out the rest.

The same arcanum can come from different days: for those born on the 1st and on the 23rd it coincides (23 − 22 = 1), but their ruling planets are different, and that shows in the character.

This is the positive part of the calculation — what a person starts from and can lean on, not a list of their limitations.
