The fifth arcanum produces a person that others come to for meaning. They begin early to think about why everything is arranged just so, and other people notice it.

They are asked for advice even before they have acquired any experience — simply because they know how to listen and how to put things into words. In time this becomes a role.

The strength is depth and the ability to see the general behind the particular. The weakness is a tendency to explain where all that is needed is to be there.

It matters that the fifth arcanum should itself have someone to talk to as an equal. Without such a person to talk to, it closes in on its own conclusions and stops testing them.

Day arcanum — character

Day arcanum = DT

The day of birth is the main part of the date. It is responsible for character and for what childhood was like, and along with that — for the past incarnation and for what a person brings out of it: inclinations, a craft, an attitude to work.

It is read as a general frame — much the way a zodiac sign is read in astrology: it describes a tendency, not the whole person. Character is made up of many numbers, and no one of them cancels out the rest.

The same arcanum can come from different days: for those born on the 1st and on the 23rd it coincides (23 − 22 = 1), but their ruling planets are different, and that shows in the character.

This is the positive part of the calculation — what a person starts from and can lean on, not a list of their limitations.
