The obstacle shows up as constantly looking over at others. Decisions are made with an allowance for what people will say; someone else's disapproval is harder to bear than your own failure.
What it blocks is an understanding of people. Behind this point is a person who sees other people's motives and can help them make sense of them; but someone who depends on the general opinion cannot be a support to anyone.
What to do: make one decision knowing it will not be approved of, and hold your ground. It usually turns out that there was less reaction than expected.
A sign that it is receding: another person's opinion becomes a piece of information rather than a verdict.
