Depriving a person of a home

Interpretations are currently available in Russian only — a translation is in progress.

The sixteenth arcanum is about shelter taken away. Those evicted, driven out, left without a roof; housing confiscated, a house divided by deception, expulsion from the family under a respectable pretext.

The descendant feels this as having no corner of their own. Moves, renting that drags on for years, a purchase that keeps falling through; or there is a home, but it does not feel like theirs and warmth does not stay in it. Often the family has a story about how "we were thrown out of there".

The working-off is to give shelter. To take in someone who has nowhere to go; to help with housing someone who is losing it through no fault of their own; not to take part in divisions of property after which somebody is left on the street. And to set up your own place as though it will remain after you.
